Dream Chaser to breathe new life into Michoud | NASASpaceFlight.com
What wonderful news. Michoud has a history going over 200 years.
My new book is "Mischief at Michoud" which should be published in the next month.
WITHIN THE APOLLO PROJECT by A WOMAN ENGINEER
Sara's account of working on the Apollo Program in the 1960s and certain events in her life. There were 450,000 people who worked on Apollo from all over the U.S. The number of women working were probably less than 10%. I am truly honored to have been a part of the greatest achievement in the history of mankind. We were the first to land on another heavenly body and I know we won't be the last.

HIGH FLIGHT
HIGH FLIGHT
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

This picture was taken in May, 1961 at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, La.
Dr. Wernher von Braun is on the left, I am in the middle and my friend, A.W. is on the right.
A. W. and I were in High School R.O.T.C. at Byrd H.S. in Shreveport, La.
He was an inspiration to all of us and one of the reasons that after college, I came to work on the Apollo Program.
